Viewing Charts

The EMR Viewer provides a comprehensive interface for browsing and viewing all documents in a patient's chart.

EMR Viewer Layout

The viewer is divided into several panels:

Document Tree (Left Panel)

A tree list displays all documents in the patient's chart. Documents can be organized in three views:

ViewDescription
By DateDocuments grouped chronologically
By PlanDocuments grouped by treatment plan
By SectionDocuments grouped by chart section

Switch between views using the By Date, By Plan, and By Section buttons.

The tree supports multi-selection — hold Ctrl or Shift to select multiple documents for batch operations.

Thumbnail Panel

When a multi-page document is selected, individual page thumbnails appear in a side panel. Click a thumbnail to jump to that page. Thumbnails show a preview of each page's content.

Document Viewer (Main Area)

The main viewing area displays the selected document. The viewer automatically selects the appropriate display mode:

Summary PDF

The Summary PDF submenu assembles the chart into a single PDF, in your choice of order:

  • Summary PDF By Section — grouped by chart section, alphabetically; within each section, documents are in date order

Use whichever reads best for the purpose — By Date for a visit-by-visit narrative, By Section for reviewing one kind of document (all operative notes, all photos) together.

Deleting

  • Delete Selected Items — Remove selected documents or pages from the chart
